Feel the suns rays, as it bakes the weathered grown Watch the Kites fly, as they brush the northern sky Colours changing, as the sun it tracks its path And reveals hidden beauty with in Weathered rock and the land. Will you fathom, what you see with your own eyes Endless beauty, buried in the molten crag Changing texture, as the rock and sky collide Can you stop and just breath it all in What seems harsh is in waiting to transform from with in. As the rain falls on the barren land Opens up the buried seed that hidden in the ground A transformation as the desert flowers like the rose, Flowers like the Rose, Flowers like the thunder that rolls cross the sparse and great divide. Lightening that dances across the darkened sky. When the sun sets, as it drops behind the crag Watch the show start, as the sun it paints the sky With each minute strokes of red and pink and grey As the stars start to pop and reveal Will such beauty make you start to Question who could make such landscapes for the eye to see.

about

“In the Blood” is the latest release from bassist and composer David Galea and is quite the departure from Davids previous releases as it is predominantly a vocal album featuring various vocalists from with in the Australian music scene. These vocalists include Elly Hoyt, Simon Watson and Briana Cowlishaw as well as a vocal track from David himself that is dedicated to his wife. Each of these tracks are original compositions and have been inspired by either the Australian landscape or people that have influenced David’s life.

In 2017 David and his family moved to the north western town of Cloncurry in Queensland Australia and spent a year with in that rugged and resilient community. Many of the tracks on this recording have been inspired by either the people, stories and landscapes that he and his family experienced while living in this harsh and arid climate.

"In the Blood", the title track also refers to the personal struggle that David has had over the years with anxiety, it details the many stages of anxiety that he and many others face and the way that he has been able, with help to bring this disorder under some sort of control.

The track order on this album is put together to create an overall sound and theme with each "Fragment" setting up the tune or song that comes after it or outlines some common melodic themes found through out the album.

This recording is dedicated to Brenda and Graham Webb, Davids grandparents who passed away in 2021.
